Eats like a bird!

Eats like a bird typically means that "you're eating very little".... but wow, these birds were having a feast this morning when I took these shots.  While I was visiting a good friends house for a girls weekend....many of the girls that were there got to witness a CSD individual in action!  I'm sure they think I am a nut case. I ruined a sweatshirt when leaning over the kitchen countertop to take the photos.....I did not realize there was a bowl of tomato sauce with no lid on!  Shirt shmirt..... oh well!  Ya win some, you loose some. If anyone can help me out with the types of birds in the pictures, that would be awesome!

Baa Baa White Sheep

There was a petting zoo at the corn maze that we visited,  so I decided to walk over and check it out.  I spotted a friendly and inquisitive soul.  This one sheep greeted me instantly.  Of course he couldn't talk but I think he was trying to say, "hey, I miss my other job where I was participating in sheep counting.... please take me home with you... I'll pay you big bucks to get me out of this pen... read these eyes, I'm bored!"

Breakfast Time

My mother caught this bird having a feast from her front window.  I had to run and fetch the camera.  I got a few good shots from cracking the door open wide enough for the lens to peak out.  Luckily I did not scare it off.  Psssstttt, secret stealth  CSD camera manuver... nature is a pure blessing, I love it!

A duck's life...

I had a CSD moment as I saw the sunset from a distance.  Once I pulled up to the lake to take a good look, to my surprise there were lots of ducks sharing each others company and enjoying the sunset too!  I got a kick out of watching them while they were taking a dip in the water.   The reflection of the sun setting on the water was so beautiful!  Big smile, loved it!  :)

Happieness is not perfected until it is shared.

Duck, Duck and no goose...

It was early morning, everyone else in the room was sleleping but my back was killing me as I laid in the hotel sofa sleeper bed wide awake.  I thought to myself "self, you can lay here on this thing they call a make shift bed in pain or sneak out on the balcony to get some fresh air and get rid of the pain." I took the second choice.

I was pleasantly surprised...ducks, ducks and more ducks!  I got me 'ol camera out and shifted into CSD gear!  Amazingly enough, I was taking these pictures quite some distance away from the ducks.  I was in a building,  on the second floor balcony and the ducks were about 20 feet from the building.  I believe I was pretty much in full zoomed mode on my camera to get a close up but as you can tell from the "before" images, they still looked far away. The focus detail is not the greatest but not bad for the distance.

I'm telling you, I'm learning that object placement and cropping is essential for photo emphasis.  Putting an object dead center of a photo while taking a photo is a first impluse but the process of cropping the object off centered makes for a much better end result.  I find that searching the image for the best cropping spot after it is taken is like finding a lost treasure.  These were kind of plain Jane pictures, but once I cropped them and clicked on the Apple MacBook Pro image enhance wand, they took on a whole new story!  I will try to include a before and after image.  Of course the larger images directly below are the cropped after versions.  The last image will show all three in their before stage.  

I love the end result of these images.  The clover was non existent in the before cropping images.  I really did not even notice the clover there while taking the picture.  But once I zoomed in for cropping ...tadah,  the clover magically appeared!  No lucky leprechaun in the clover, but it makes for a nice backdrop on the photos with the little white blooms and the ducks nestled amongst them. These ducks were my entertainment for the morning while I was watching them.  I know, I lead quite an exciting life.   

Don't aim for success, just do what you love and believe in and it will come naturally.

Fuzzy Cozy

This little baby bird looks so content and cozy.  He or she is listening intently to their mother who is in the tree four feet above the nest.  Mommy is loudly squawking  at the crazy *CSD picture lady to go and take her picture taking someplace else.  The picture lady finally did abide by her wishes...

Highland Cattle

Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS7OU-OU-WOOT WOOT...a CSD moment for sure!  This just proves that a good hair do can make you look cute.  I've stumbled onto pictures of these types of cattle via the Internet and I have always admired them from a computer monitor.  However, being able to see them today in person from just a "drive by" was an extra treat.  Of course it is not a typical drive by, it was a CSD drive by where you notice your picture opportunity and don't have enough time to react so therefore you have to slam on the brakes, turn the car around and stop to get out of the vehicle with camera in hand.  My daughter always sighs "really Mom, do we have to?"  I say to her, "yes when you are a back seat rider, then yes you do... you are basically along for the luxury of reaping my CSD moments."  She sighs.... These creatures are so beautiful & cute!  Their hairy bangs over their eyes remind me of the Lhasa Apso dog breed.  I shared the pictures with a friend and her comment was that they remind her of Donald Trump,  LOL...too funny!    I was quite a distance from the road to the cattle but I was lucky as all I had to do was shuffle my feet on the gravel by the edge of the road and the cattle would look up at me with curiosity and stay still for a quick snap shot.The little purple flowers in the field make for a great summertime accent for the photo too!   Living in Wisconsin, you always see cows, but not typically anything like this.....yippee, I am so excited!

The breed developed in the Scottish Highlands and Western Isles of Scotland. Breeding stock has been exported to the rest of the world, especially Australia and North America, since the early 20th Century. The breed was developed from two sets of stock, one originally black, and the other reddish.

Pool in 'da pond...

Someone needs anger management classes

Seriously, I've never seen a seagull get mad when someone is close by.  It seems typically they are the happy go lucky type personalities and just meander walking around on the pavement with a few squawks here and there.  Not for me today, as soon as I sat down on the picnic table they flew in and immediately started squawking at me.  They seemed angry and gave me an ear full as they carried on for quite some time.....I think I was sitting at their picnic table and they were not happy about that!  Perhaps they wanted food but I just sat there and listened to them and it seemed that they got even more mad.   I have that effect on people.  Who would of thought....


The only way to entertain some folks is to listen to them.

Three little baby birdies

I found these little fuzzy baby birdie balls... so sweet... so young... in a nest on a ledge in front of the house. It is amazing how big their toe nails are (see the last photo, looking to the left... with the big toe nail sticking out of the nest)!

Did you know that babies are nauseated by the smell of a clean shirt?

Seagull Toed...

You have heard of Pigeon toed, right?  Well, this little blog CSD moment is about the Seagull toed...

The last day of my vacation I took a stroll down the beach and ran into a group of seagulls hanging out enjoying the morning sunrise.  I though it would be a good photo opportunity.

It seems like my picture adventures always seem to turn into something else. I seem to stumble on things beyond my first attempts.  After I took my first snap shot, I ventured closer taking my chances that they would not fly away.  I was pleasantly surprised as I got closer, I started to see huge amounts of seagull foot prints in the sand.  It was like 3D-art style to me!  It looked like a cool print almost leaf like in shape.  It was new to me as I've never really seen anything quite like it.  The morning dew must of made the sand moist enough to hold the cool foot print shape and the human traffic had not been around to ruin it.   I was so excited to discover something new but had no one to share it with.  So now, I am sharing it with you!

A bird watcher is a person who listens to birds with a pair of binoculars.

a candidate for the biggest looser

Okay, so this is the biggest, largest, plump Robin that I have ever seen in my whole life!   I am trying to be nice by not using the word FAT.  Never the less, I thought as rolly polly as it was, that it was deffinately too darn cute to by pass up a photo opportunity!  I had to run and grab the camera for a quick CSD shot.  I shared the photos with a friend of mine and she made a funny comment "He has a little humpty dumpty belly... he must have found the motherload of worms jackpot!"   This Robin deffinately made my day for a sure sign that Spring is very close to being around the corner with some warmer weather!  I am so excited for Spring,   HALLELUJAH!  Can you tell I am excited?  I am so not a winter fan, seriously. 

Spring is when you feel like whistling even with a shoe full of slush.

HEY HEY HEY FROGGY BABY

This cute little frog has made his home in our pond behind the house.  Looking at this frog makes me think that he is thinking "now, what is this crazy lady up to, maybe she won't see me if I sit here really still and blend in with my surroundings?"  Look at him, he looks not too sure but cool as a cucumber.  He did not move an inch for a considerable amount of time even when I got up close.  He is saying "yeah, I am cool and I will sit here really still so you can take a snap shot."  His metallic skin is mesmerizing and oh so interesting.  The buggy eyes have such character.  All I can say is "Thank you froggy baby for participating in my CSD moment!"   You are super cute and also a good sport... :)
